Angola recognized Ukraine on September 30, 1993.
Diplomatic relations with Ukraine were established on September 30, 1994.
From May 2004 to May 2007, Ukraine was represented in the Republic of Angola at the level of Ambassador Volodymyr Lakomov. Subsequently, Ukraine was represented at the level of chargé d'affaires. Since November 2020, the head of the Embassy of Ukraine in Angola - Mr. Andrii Chornopyskyi.
June 24-25, 1999 - the first visit of the official delegation of Ukraine headed by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, who had the status of Special Envoy of the President of Ukraine, took place in Angola.
April 4-5, 2001 - working visit to Ukraine of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs J. Shikoti, during which a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola.
October 7-10, 2008 - official visit to Ukraine of the military delegation of the Armed Forces and the General Staff of Angola headed by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Angola, General J.A. Ukvashitambu "Camorteiro".
May 18-19, 2013 - working visit to Ukraine of the Minister of State - Head of the Military Chancellery of the President of Angola, General Manuel Elder Vieira Diaz "Kopelipa".
March 1-10, 2017 - working visit to Angola of the delegation of the CCI of Ukraine headed by Vice President S.O. Svistil, accompanied by representatives of Ukrainian business.
May 11-13, 2017 - visit to Angola of the delegation of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection headed by Deputy Director of the Department of Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine M.V. Belous.
November 19-22, 2017 - a working visit to the Republic of Angola by a delegation of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine headed by Deputy Minister for European Integration O.V. Trofimtseva.
