The Russian aggression against Ukraine began with the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol in 2014. February 2025 marks the 11th anniversary of the peninsula’s occupation. The war began not 3 but 11 years ago with the occupation of Crimea and will only be over when the entire territory of Ukraine is liberated, including the Crimean Peninsula.
